Starting Your Simple Beard Care Routine

Starting Your Simple Beard Care Routine

There are many guides online about how to start a beard care routine. The truth is, you don't need much to get started.

Many guides contain drawn-out steps and tons of unnecessary products. The truth is, consistency is the most important component of any routine, but consistency is difficult to achieve if your routine is complicated. We believe simplicity is the key to consistency, and consistency is the key to results.

Step 1: Clean

Products: Conditioning Beard Shampoo

Washing removes sweat, dirt, and excess oil that builds up throughout the day. Clean hair and skin create the foundation for a healthy beard.

How often:

  • 2–3 times per week is sufficient for most men, but adjust as needed
  • More often if you sweat heavily or work in dusty environments
  • Less often if your skin tends to be dry or sensitive

Step 2: Condition

Products: Beard Oil

After washing or showering, apply beard oil to restore moisture and condition both the beard and the skin underneath.

Beard oil helps:

  • Reduce dryness, flaking, and itch
  • Soften coarse hair
  • Improve manageability
  • Support healthier-looking growth

How to use beard oil:
Apply 6-8 drops directly to your beard and work evenly throughout, then massage into the skin underneath. For best results, use daily.

Step 3: Control

Products: Beard Balm, Brush and/or Comb

Beard balm provides light hold and structure while adding additional conditioning. Combing and brushing helps to style and distribute product evenly.

It helps:

  • Control beard hairs that won't lay flat - a.k.a. flyaways
  • Shape and style your beard
  • Lock in moisture and provide additional cleansing
  • Give a more polished, well-groomed look

How to use:
Warm a pea-sized amount between your palm and work through your beard, smoothing the beard in a downward direction. A little goes a long way, so start with less and add more if needed. Use daily or as desired. Comb and brush afterwards to help distribute product and shape beard.

Pro Tips

  • A little goes a long way. It's usually better to start with less product and add more if needed.
  • A personal routine is personal - don't be afraid to adjust and experiment what works best for you.
  • Keep things simple - consistency is more important than having a complicated routine or using many different products.
